Battle of the Books, or BOB, is a district wide reading competition for Judson ISD fifth graders. Students read books from a preselected list (available at our school library). In April, students form teams of no more than four students, meet up at a high school, and “battle” groups from other Judson elementary schools. There are several rounds where teams with the highest score advance until just one team remains. The group that knows the most about the details of the books and answers the most questions correctly wins! Judson librarians believe healthy competition among our book lovers is a great way to show appreciation for literacy.
